The nominations were as follow :— For '.Mayor— William Christie Buik, merchant; and Henry Scott, merchant. Councillorship for Hindmarsh, Ward— Joseph- Hanton-, gentle man; William Jones, produce merchant; Thomas Rhodes, ironmonger; and -Fames M. Stcy. importer. . For .Gawler Ward James Anderson, builder, who. being the only candidates, was declared elected. For Grey- Ward— Samuel Raphael, gentleman; Henry C. Richardson; architect. ?' For Young Ward— Samuel Allen, land agent; David -McNamara. gentleman. For Robe Ward— William Gilbert, hay. merchant, who was elected without opposition.
