SKELETON IN
BUSH
---
Discovery In Tree
Near Highway
Portions of a human skeleton
were found in the bottom of a
hollow tree about 150 yards
from Albany-highway, about
77 miles from Perth, yesterday
afternoon. Constable A. Nay
lor, of the Boddington police,
will go to the scene this
morning.
The discovery was made by
Clem Mathews and Alec Hall, of
Boddington, who are engaged in
clearing timber in the district.
One leg with a knitted sock and
boot on it, a skull with a large
hole in the side, and some other
scattered bones were found. Near
by was a pair of steel-rimmed
spectacles in a case and what ap
peared to be cloth was half
buried in ashes and dirt. It is
thought that the rest of the bones
may be under the ash and dirt.
The tree is in an area which has
been swept by a bushfire and is
itself partly burnt.
