Jefferies will remain with Taringa, but Mennelaws will have to wait un til the next meeting of the permit and umpires' committee to secure permis sion to transfer from Kedron to Ascot. Windsor will play a combined South Brisbane and Kedron team in a prac tice rnatch at Windsor Park on Satur day. ' ; ? . The season will open with cup-round fixtures. Windsor, last season's pre miers, will play Ascot at Perry. Park. South Brisbane will meet Taringa at Windsor Park, and Kedron has the bye. . . Teams from the reserve grade will play the curtain-raisers to both games. The cup round will not be conducted on last year's knockout principle. The games played will constitute the first round of premiership fixtures, and the leading team at the conclusion of the first round will take the cup trophy.
