Some months ago the Werribee Council was
invited by the Railways department to suggest
a name for the new railway station between New-
port and Laverton. In view of the interest shown by the president of the shire (Councillor
M. Galvin) in the development of Altona and
the district, it was decided, after several names of historical hracter had been rejected, to submit the name "Galvin." The council has been advised that the selection has been ap- proved.
