BASKETBALL VISIT FROM N.Z. Only Seven-a-side Code Team Wanted
State associations have voted unanim ously In favour of a New Zealand bas ketball team visiting Australia to take part In the All-Australia women's bas
Kezmu caraivaj in Mejoourne m August. 1937. New Zealand's suggestion to send two teams to play the ntne-a-alde code only has been turned down by the Australian Council, as the standard game here is the seven-a-slde code. It has been sug gested to New Zealand that they should send a seven-a-slde code team to partici pate In the Australian carnival, also' a second team as a tourists' team so that a demonstration of the nlne-a-slde code game could be given. The Australian Women's Basketball Coun cil has already made contact with the All England Association for netball, bas ketball, and other hand ball games. It Is understood that the English code in very similar to the seven-a-slde game played la Australia, and It Is hoped that negotiations will soon be opened for an exchange of visits.
