MELON PIE.

There ain't no dish I'd rather try. Than my dea r wife's good melon pie, I get a melon from the pit And take the axe and open it.

Then James takes some spice And fixes the taste that's almighty nice. ,^ She mixes up a lot of stuff To make them pies, but not enough. Of all the foods that's known to man There ain't a single one that can Compete with this pie of hers; And as long as that pie endures You'll find me happy. Nothing I Have et as good as that melon pie. The recipe she tells me, she's got none, She puts the things in one by one. She measures with a practised eye The things that enter that melon pie. That pie is sure a work of art, A man and his wife would never part If she could make melon pie like that Divorce courts would all be left flat Young men, just take a tip from me And ask your sweetheart whether she Can make melon -pie, 'ere it's too late You'd better have her demonstrate, I H'sOiK don't wait a day, But get the knot tied right away.
