BRITISH ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

QUEENSLAND AGAINST NEW SOUTH WALES

PICKED TEAM

To enable the Selection Committee of the Queensland British Football Association       to finally decide the players in the intercolonial match with New South Wales under the British Association rules, two teams from the various clubs played a match on Saturday. The pro-     bable team were picked from the play shown by the players in the two previous games, while   the other team were composed of players selected from the best in the association. The     game took place on the St. Andrew's ground, Pineapple, and attracted a large number of spectators. The ball was kicked off at 3.30,   and it was evident from the combined play of     the picked team they were determined to give       the probable players a hard game. However, the fine passing game of the probable players, with the assistance of their strong back divi-

sion made them superior in the game, which ended:-Probable players, 5 goals; picked       team, nil. The Selection Committee     held a meeting afterwards, and the       team chosen was as follows - C Bennet, J.   Lamond, N. Shelley, H. Blake, W Collie, J.

Brown, G. Menzies, J. McCosh, W. Dreghorn,   J. Inglis, G. Shelley, A. Manson, D. Menzies,   Barker, M. Drennan (manager). The first   game against New South Wales takes place on   10th August in Sydney, the second game

against the holders of the cup on the 19th, and   on Thursday the team journey to Newcastle to

play the Northern Association of New South Wales, while the final game will be played in

Sydney on 23rd August, when a combined team of the Northern and Southern Associations of New South Wales will do battle against Queens-

land.
