SCHEAPER BEER PORT DAR WIN'S DEMAND. THE RIGHTS OF- CITIZENSHIP. Port Darwin, Jab. 16. A' crowded public meeting was held in the Town Hall last night, under the auspices of the- State hotel bar boycott committee. It was presided over by the- Mayor (Councillor Watts). An organised campaign against the pavyment of income tax until t-ie rights of citizenship have been so cured was decided upon. " A levy of 10/ will be imposed upon unionists to help the cam paign, and the town'speople are ask ed to voluntarily subscribe the same amount. The hotel bar boycott has now lasted six weeks, and the boycott committee is paying tehe wages of the three barmen out of employ ment. It will last until bottled beer has been reduced from 1/9 to 1/3, and the Hotel Victoria bar -is thrown open to the public. A procession will meet ~enator Ferricks on his arrival, and the re ception committee -vill lay local grievances before him.
