MR. T. A. L. DAVY, M.L.A.
Mr. T. A. L. Davy is a New Zealander by birth. The elder son. of the late Dr. T. G. Davy, he came to Western Australia at a very early age. He was educated at
the Fremantle State School, and at Hale School, and in 1909 he won a Rhodes scho larship, sailing the following year for Ox ford University. There he graduated in Arts and Law, and was called to the Bar at Gray's Inn in 1912. Returning to Western Australia, he was admitted to the Bar in this State in 1914, and he be came associated as a partner with the wcl known legal firm of Northmore and Hale.
Early in the following year Mr. Davy rejoined his old regiment, the King's Colonials, and went on active service. He was transferred to the Royal Field Ar tillery, and in 1916 he was wounded. He served in France from May to September of that year, and then in India, retiring with the rank of captain. After the war Ue returned to Western Australia, and resumed practice. In March, 1924. he was elected to represent West Perth in the Legislative Assembly, and he has held that seat ever since, becoming, latterly. Deputy Leader of the Opposition. He was appointed Perth City Solicitor in 1926. te is a member of the Rhodes Scholar ship-Selection Board, and is the Govern ment's nominee on the classification board of the Education Department.
