Flood Sweeps N.-E. India
PATNA, Tues. (A.A.P.-Reu- ter). - Floodwaters from the River Kosi in North-East In- dia have swept 391 villages in Bihar's most populous district, Darbhanga, according to re- ports reaching Patna. Com- munications have been disrupt- ed, and boats are the only means of transport in an area of more than 400 square miles.
More than 900 boats and motor launches have been com- missioned to carry food and medical aid to more than 200,000 people.
