STORM ON THE GOLDFIELDS. EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AT YUNDA. MINDERA. BUILDINGS DEMOLISHED. Yundamindera, November 5. A severe rainstrom pared over Yundamin dera on Thursday afternoon. About 4.45 o'clock clouds gathered in a south-westerly direction, and travelled over a strip about five. miles wide. About 50 points of rain feN. accompanied by an unprecedented hail storm. The hailstones, which were larger than pigeons' eggs, killed fowls and small animals. The storm stripped the trees and shrubs of all foliage. Considerable damage was done to property, the local Workers' Hall. which cost £650, being completely demolish ed. and a Broadwood piano in the building was reduced to matchwood. The dispen. sary was wrecked and the Health Board's office destroyed. The local hotels both suf fered. At"the Granites Hotel all the win. dows on one tide were broken. At the Potosi battery the smoke-stack was blown down, and all the residences in the town suffered more or less. HEAVY RAIN AT MENZIES. Menzies. November 5. On Thursday afternoon about half-past 3 o'clock a violent stormn passed over Menzies. Rain poured down heavily, and the rain gaune at the Post Office registered 36 points in the brief space of ten minutes. In the same period the thormometer fell from 87deg. to 62deg.
