i NEW REAR-ADMIRAL FOR
3 AUSTRALIAN NAVY
The British Admiralty proposes to
nominate Rear-Admiral R. H. C. Lane
Poole to command the Australian
squadron as successor to Rear-Admiral
W. T. Randle Ford.
Mr. Parkhill said yesterday that a
communication had been despatched
to the Secretary of State for Dominion
Affairs accepting the nomination
of Rear-Admiral Lane Poole, who was
Captain of the Royal Australian Naval
College from April, 1923, until April,
1927, but of late has been in command
of the Royal Naval Barracks,
Devonport, England,
