RICH PRIZES TO RADIO PLAYERS
THE Macquarie Award for 1950 waa announced
last night by Mr. Neil Hutchinson, director of drama for the Australian Broadcasting Com- mission, who was chairman of the judging panel.
The award, which is for radio performance in the weekly 3AW Caltex play, is
as follows:
. 100 guineas and trophy for best female performance-Miss' Neva Carr-Glynn for her role in "Half Light."
. 100 guineas and trophy for best male performance-Allan Trevor [or his role in "Devil's Disciple."
. 50 guineas and medallion for best female supporting role - Miss Queenie Ashton for her per- formance in "Edward, My Son." . 50 guineas and medallion for best male support-Allan White for his performance in "Iris."
. 50 guineas for best comedy per- formance of the year-John Car- bon for his portrayal of all seven members of the family in "Kind Hearts snd Coronets."
