A Knitted Workbag.

   

Materials: 1 hank "Celanese" Crepe Twist (shaded); 2 Stratnoid knitting pins No. 7; 2 wooden rings for handles; ¾ yard Jap silk for lining.

Description: This useful workbag is very simple to make, being knitted in a single straight strip, and mounted on two rings for handles. Do not

slip the first stitch of any row. Al- ways knit into the back of each cast-on stitch. Abbreviations: k., knit; p., purl. Cast on 119 stitches. 1st row.--K. 11 * p. 1, k. 1, p. 1, k. 1, p. 1, k. 1, p. 1, k. 11, repeat from * to end.

2nd row.--* p. 12, k. 1, p. 1, k. 1, p. 1, k. 1, p. 1, repeat from * until 11 remain, p. 11. Repeat these 2 rows until hank

is used. Cast off.

Press the knitting well on wrong side under a damp cloth with a hot iron. Cut 2 strips of Jap silk 1½ inches wide, fold in half and bind the rings. Line the knitting with Jap silk and sew the cast-off and cast-on edges, each over a ring respectively. Sew up side-seams leaving a 4-inch opening, sew each corner to side-seams, about 1 inch be- low opening.
