BLUES TRIUMPH.

Bewildering tho leaden with
an exhilarating exhibition of
full-blooded, virile football, in which

weight to advantage, the Blues levelled

Wrout ushered in the next term with
another skyscraping mark and a goal,
and when Farrclly booted another tho
crowd simply stood and roared. Their
system smothered and demoniacal ways
obliterated, Melbourne could find no cf-
fectlvo counter for the now all-powerful
Blues. It was definitely Carlton's quar
ter, but a brace of needy Melbourne
goals reduced the margin to 6 points at
half-time.

ability kept him well in the limelight.
Cooper was very prominent throughout,

Melbourne was well served by Smith
and Fischer, who always seemed to do
