The first cup match of the season was played at Pineapple Paddock on Saturday between Stars and Cities. Cities won the toss, and kicked off with the sun behind them punctually at 3.30 p.m. The Stars played a very combined game, and In a few minutes were in the Cities' goal. ,W. Dreghorn saved matters, however. Harper and Agnew showed to every advantage for the Cities. For ten minutes play- was devoted entirely to Cities' defending.
