Is an ox-public school boy, and is a

foot-runner, and excels
as
follower and defender.
C. Hardy, the coach, is well satisfled
with the prospects at Essendon

Cameron, L. Kent, L. Johnson, Ogden,
Payne
and
Bence.
Old
players
In
Vostl, Simpson and Campbell are well
again.
The last-named was operated
on recently for appendicitis, and has
made a good recovery.
N. Beckton
has been appointed captain. He is in
fine playing form.
FITZHOY REUNION
A reunion of old and present players
of the Fltzroy club will be held
at Clota's Cafe, Flinders street, next
Monday. The ' ,Maroons' prospects
look brighter. Rumors that Moriarty
was going elsewhere were shattered
when he appeared in a practice
match on Saturday and kicked goals
in his best style. Numerous recruits
have been tried out, and some impressed.
Supporters, are pleased with the
return of Gordon,'Who had a leg
broken 4 f«w seasons ago. Of the
recruits Impressive performers on the
track have been it. Perrett, Roberts,
Gubblns, Cockram (no relation to
the old player), Willis. Skurrie, Pratt,
Beckham, Stott and Hart.
Kllda. face the season with
great confidence. Randle, the Mohr
brothers, Price,-Scott, Laver, Loughrey,
WJgg, Corhy, Rastus, Coffin, Foster
and Cant-well have been showing
out well.
Footscray also are confident. Russ,
of North Melbourne, has been cleared
to Footscray. Essendon wanted Russ,
but he lived-In Footscray"s territory.
