BEQUEST TO UNIVERSITY.
Th« late Colonel Oswald Watt, who died In May, 1921, left an ««Ute valued for probate purposes at over £176,000, »nd appointed the Perpetual Trustee Corripany a« executor« and trustee«. After leaving many bequests and numerous legacies to friends and Institutions, be bequeatbedytbe residue of bl« property upon trust to th« Senate of th« University of Sydney "for auch uses for the benefit of the Institution a« the Benata ¡u ¡ti abso- lute discretion should determine."
Owing to certain legal difficulties, it was only in July, 1924, that the trustees were In a politlón to glvo effect to tho benefactor's direction«, and even now the value of the gift to the University cannot be accurately stated. But the truiteei have informed the University that the estate has been realised to a great extent, and that after realisation of some fur- ther assets and the death of certain an- nuitants, a «um. approximating £109,600 (of which «um, £46,000 has already been paid over) will be received by the University.
