FOR COUNTRY TOWNS.
The Railway Commissioners have informed the Lithgow Council that by November, 1923, they expect to be in a position to supply Lith- gow with all the electricity that is required, both for power and lighting purposes, at a very reasonable figure. The supply will come from the big electric generating station fore- shadowed some months ago which it Is pro- posed to instal at the State coal mine and which will be of such dimensions that the cur- rent will be available for towns farther west, including Bathurst and Orange. The installa- tion will be a very powerful one. The scheme Is contingent on financial provision being made on the Estimates for 1921-22.
