I understand that the L160,000 which,
has been obtained . by the government
from the Loudon Chartered Bank,, has
all been expended in tbe payment of sola-,
ries, etc. A fresh loan has been obtained*
to-day of 140,000, making a total of
L200,000 advanced to the government un-'
der the temporary and provisional arrange
ment to which His Excellency Sir Charles
Darling is a party. 1 Mr Bramwell's con
science arid nerves have not allowed him,
up to the present to exceed the original'
limit of each advance, viz, L40.000.
