A RUSH TO THE MOUNTAINS.
LAWSON, Saturday.
A great rush is being made to the mountains. The express from Sydney last night ran in two divisions, both being crowded. The special cheap excursion trains from Bourke contained over 400 passengers. Numbers expressed their delight at feeling the change of fresh air. The morning and afternoon excursions from Sydney also ran in two divisions, all being fairly filled. Up to yesterday the weather was very hot, the glass rising as high as 97°. A change set in last night, and the tem- perature fell to 72°. Some very nice showers fell to-day, about 40 points of rain being registered.
