EXCURSIONS TO COOL CLIMATES.
The cheap excursion trains granted by the Railway Commissioners to enable residents in
the interior to reach cooler climates were com- menced on Wednesday, and are now being largely
patronised. On the day named about 50 people left Bourke, and yesterday about 70 were booked out by the cheap trains. The next series will be run on Friday ; and the commisioners have allowed the special rates to apply to trains from southern stations to the Cooma line, the expecta-
tion being that some of the residents in the Riverina district will take advantage of the oppor- tunity to visit the Monaro country. Similar ex- cursion trains will also be run from the North Western and the Northern lines, between New-
castle and Tamworth inclusive, to the New England district. The tickets are available for three weeks for return by the ordinary trains.
