INTENSE HEAT AT BOURKE
THREE MORE DEATHS AND FURTHER
There is no cessation in the great heat, in fact it is increasing, the thermometer registering 120 to-day. Three more deaths were recorded to-day, directly caused by the sun. The town was startled to-night by a report of the death of Mrs. Sproule, a well-known identity here. Her
husband, who died about two years ago, arrived nearly 40 years ago. A labourer named George Holt, employed at Nulga Valley, died last night, aged between 70 and 80 years. Matthew Harvey, who received a sunstroke at Yanda, died in a buggy which was bringing him for medical assist- ance. Two more cases of sunstroke occurred to- day, and the victims are in a critical condition. From the appearance of the sky to-morrow will be hotter than to-day.
