IDOL DIES
Former Port Adelaide
football idol . Ernest
("Punch") Mu c k lo w
dropped dead at Sema
phore today. He was 53.
Mucklow began his
league football career with
Port in 1919, and played
over a period of 14 years.
Mr. Charlie Adams, Port
selector, former interstate
footballer and one-time
teammate of Mucklow
said today: "Punch was
one of the best wingmen
I have ever seen."
Mucklow. a furnaceman
was visiting Jack Cowie's
stables in Bower road.
Semaphore. when he died
Constables J. Comley
and D. H. Rowe, of Sema
phore, are making inqui
ries about his death.
