DEATH OF PRINCE ALEXANDER OF THE
NETHERLANDS.
THE HAGUE, MARCH 20. - In the sitting of the Stataes Chambers to-day, the President communicated to the As- sembly a Royal Message, announcing the decease of his Royal Highness Prince Alexander of the Netherlands, in the Island of Madeira, whither he had gone for the re-establishtnent of his health.
He also had a Royal Message, announc- ing that his Majesty accepted the resigna- tion of M. de Jonge de Campe us Nieu- weland, thanking that gentleman for the numerous and important services which he had rendered to the State, and inform- ing the Chamber that he had committed the portfolio of the Department of Justice lo M. D. Uonker Curtis, pro tem. The Court of the Netherlands has gone into mourning foi three months for Prince Alexander.
