SMALLHORN?
Although he has announced that he intends to retire at the end of the season Wilficd ( Chicken ) Smallhorn the Fitz- roy wing man is playing so well that strenuous efforts are sure to be made to keep him In the team
Smallhorn who came from a chuich team in 1930 has played 134 games and in addition to representing Victoria on various occasions he has obtained the highest award in the game-the Brown- low Medal for best and fairest player in the League
Because of his prowess on the wing where he is frequentlj brilliant Small- horn is sure to be high on the list for the most popular plajei Such players as Hall Dawson Ryin Smith Curcio Treweek Gillespie-Jones and others who are playing well are also in the running
The Argus Is sponsoring a quest for the most populai player in the League and Association Each v cek the leader League 01 Association receives £2/2/ for the most v otes lodged in that w eek
The League player who receives the highest number of votes for the season will receive 50 guineas and the Associa- tion leader will receive 25 guineas In addition the League and Association clubs which receive the highest aggre- gates for the season will receive 25 guineas each
