Aratula News   DEATH OF MR. MULLER. A very old resident of this district passed away in the person of Mr. H. G. Muller, on the 27th March. He first came to this locality when boy of 13, and was then engageu in breaking in horses on the Fases fern station. When 16 years of age, he married and took up a farm in the scrub. He took up p?g buying, and Ibaon curing later, living then in 'l'empen. - The Fassifern station was cut up, and he disposed of his farm in 'hbmplen, purchased a splen did ferm in Aratula, and lived hap. pily here with his iamily, for the past six years. About a fortnight previouis to h cod, accompanied by his three sons and a married dnugh= ter he went to Redclilie !to fence in some allotments, he had there. The third day after his arrival there, he was conained to his bed Aith the dengue fever. Suddenly he became worse, bleeding heavily from - the nos:. and his family were sent for. He was conveyed to the Brisbane Hos pital and operated on. All possible care was taken of him, but he pass ed peacefully away at 4 a.m. on the TIuesd!a. hils body was then con veyed, I:er motor, front Brisbane to his residence. The funeral was a very large one, and the last rites at the graveside were performed by' the Rev. Monz. He was the first to he buried in the new Lutheran Cemetery at Aratula. He has teen married twice :' his first wife predeceased him just five ,ears ago. lIe leaves a family of ton by the first. wife, and one by his se nidl. (reat sympathy is felt for the y.sunz wife and family. RAINFAI.l.. For the p:est few days we have had rather showery weather. It is still threatening for a heavy downpour, which would he greatly welcomed by all maize-growers. SOCIAL. Pie. F. A. Surawski, who was on week-end leave, has been unable to return to camp at Chermside, t}hrough suffering from a severe attack of den gue, but all being'well he expects to return on Monday next. Sgnr. I'. AW. Howard left for Sydney on Wednes day last. His parent- accompanied himl as far as Brisbane when he was returning to camp from "final leave." April G.
