  • In The Mount Morgans Miner, vol. 1, no. 1 (22 Mar. 1901) it is stated: "It is now six months since the Mt Morgans Miner made its appearance. In October last the printing plant and the whole of the machinery was destroyed by fire. As we had no insurance on the property the loss was a heavy one, and since that date we have done all in our power, with the limited means at our disposal in securing a plant to replace the one destroyed. After some hard struggling, and with the assistance of our many friends we have at last succeeded in doing so and we are again in a position to re-publish the Miner..." ('Ourselves, page 2).
