    The North-German Lloyds Company's steamer Friedrich der Groase, which arrived at Large Bay on Sunday, is the largest vessel ever seen in Australian waters. She is 626 ft long, 60 ft 5 in. wide, and 38 ft. deep. Her gross tonnage is 10,535 tons. The cabin arrangements are superb, and provide for berthing 100 first-class and 76 second-class passengers, and if the whole of the room available for steerage passengers is taken up no less than 2,300 could be accommodated on a single trip.
