    ALTHOUGH SMASHED INTO TWO PIECES, the wrecked Saros still defies the sea at Cape Everard. Above is a picture of the two sections of the ship after heavy seas have abated. The bow is wedged on the rocks of the shore. The stern and engine room rest on a rock 20 yards away. It is still possible to carry out salvage operations. Curiously, in their work of destruction the. waves put the wrecked vessel in a safer position for the salvaging of gear and fittings. The two parts of the wreck now lie firmly wedged on the rocks.
