  27. ITALIAN MEMBERS OF THE CREW OF THE AIRSHIP ITALIA

    Strenuous efforts are stilt being made to rescue the members of the wrecked airship Italia, which came to grief in the Arctic regions some weeks ago. The leader of the Italia crew, General Nobile, has already been rescued and communication is being maintained with the men who stayed with him. The crew, it will be remembered, split up into three parties, seven men were left with the airship, Nobile and his party were in the gondola, and three men set out across the ley waste in an endeavor to reach civilisation and get assistance. Nothing has been heard of the first and last parties. Flight-Captain A. Mariano was the officer in charge of the seven men in the airship itself. The following [?] ... [ILLUSTRATED]
