The above Map shows both the Proposed Transcontinental Railway and the Coast Railway as submitted to Parliament by the Government, and the reports of the Commissioner for Railways (Mr. J. F. Thallon) and Mr. O.L. Athos, surveyor who examined the route of the Transcontinental Railway which are given on pages 41,42 and 43 describe the proposals in detail. Existing Railways are shown by straight lines and the proposed railways by dotted line. The boundaries of the Benefittede Areas are marked by [?] or waved lines. The areas are distinguished by the letters A,B,C and D in the case of the Transcontinental Railway and A, B, C, D and ... [ILLUSTRATED]
