THE SINKING OF THIS U-BOAT IN NORTHERN WATERS has won the Victoria Cross for Flying-Officer J. A. Cruickshank, pilot and captain of the Catalina flying-boat, in which he successfully attacked the submarine in spite of being repeatedly hit by AA fire.
