    Sir,—We are fortunate in having four candidates from whom to choose a representative next Saturday. All are wellknown, and supporters of each should be content to let the issue be decided on its merits. I find, however, that the candidature of one aspirant—Mr. A. E. Lillicois being opposed by some on the ground that his father already is a member of the Legislative Council. Could anything be more stupid and childish. Mr. A. Lillico has represented Mersey in the Legislative Council for l9 years, and I am not alone in the opinion that he has been an outstanding representative both in regard to ability and the conscientious discharge of his duties. If the candidate for Meander (who is his son) proves to be "a chip off the old block," and is elected, we will have just causo to feel pleased that we chose hun as our member.
