  6. 'Frisco Earthquake.

    As supplementary to the excellent pictures of the San Francisco disaster which appeared in last week's issue, we publish above three additional illustrations from photographs kindly supplied by Mr. Frederic Shipman, manager of Miss Marie Narolle's Australian concert tour. No fires were allowed indoors after the disaster, and the survivors were obliged to cook their food in the streets, as shown in one of the pictures. Another illustration shows how the stool frames of the buildings withstood the earthquake, other structures not similarly constructed being absolutely demolished. Mrs. Shipman, who, with her husband, was in 'Frisco during the disaster, is shown in the foreground of this ... [ILLUSTRATED]
