The Hospital Saturday collection in Sydney on May 5 eclipsed all previous records, the sum of £4569 12s lld being collected, which is more than £400 better than last year's total. The outdoor collection accounted for £3592, or £320 more than last year. The money collected represented between three and four tons of coins. Of coppers alone there were more than, three tons. The handsome St. Bernard dog shown in one of the pictures was a duly-appointed collector, a box being fastened round the animal's' neck. ... [ILLUSTRATED]
