    The terrific noise from Jet engined aircraft on groung tests proved a grave problem. A new "murrler,"built at the Vickers-Armstrong Supermarine factory near Swindon has now proved very successful. The aircraft is moved into the pen and the end of the jet pipe centred into the speaking of the "muffler,"Restraining wires are then fixed to hold the aircraft in position and the engine is ready for testing.
