    There were scenes of joyous activity at the Railway Station on Friday afternoon when holiday special arrived and departed, with their gay human freight. It was really the start of the holiday season—trippers off to seaside resorts, the hills and country centres, and visitors coming to the city for family reunions and sightseeing. Throughout the day there was a spectacular bustle on the platforms and throughout conditions were hot, and disadvantages of weather and overcrowding were forgotten in the true spirit of the season.
