  16. CROWDS AT THE TANUNDA BAND CONTESTS.

    Our photograph of the Tanunda Recreation Reserve shows a section of the crowd present at the concluding day of the local band contests last Saturday. The arena was densely packed by motor cars.—In the centre of the picture is the platform from which the competing bands played. The bandon. the stand is mitcham, which won the B grade contest. One of the cars seen in the centre of the oval was occupied by Mr. Benno Seppell, Tanunda's G.O.M. of the wine industry. The Tanunda competitions have made phenomenal progress during the 1st four years and in the words of the Victorian judge (Mr. Percy Jones) who was engaged for the second year in succession to adjudicate the band sections Tanunda has captured from progress during the last four years, and in the words of the Victorian judge (Mr. Percy Jones), who was engaged for the second year in succession, to adjudicate the band sections, Tanunda has captured from Ballarat the band contesting competitions.
