    New turf wickets on the extension of Dandenong Park were officially opened yesterday. To mark the occasion, on ono of the four wickets a team of noted cricketers, which included soveral interstate players, met a team from the Dandenong district. It was on this ground that Dandenong met and defeated Stoddart's English Test team in 1895 a notable event in cricketing history and in the annals of the township.
