    This is Mr. Paul Montford's sketch in clay for the Hympanum over the portice on the Southern side of the State War memorial. The design, on the scale of one in six, has just been approved by the executive committee of the memorial. The group symbolises the repatriation of the soldier. Australia, typified by the youth in the centre, is depicted surrounded by horses of the sea against a background of fruits of the earth's fullness.
