    Forty million gallons is the capacity of a reservoir being built at the top of Mount Waverley by the Metropolitan Board of Works to serve the south-eastern suburbs with water. The reservoir, which will be completed in June, 1929, covers 14½ acres of ground, and 150,000 cubic yards of earth and rock have already been excavated.
