    After a delay ot three hours caused by slight engine trouble, the Southern Cross, with Captain Kingsford Smith and his fellow trans-Pacific flyers, left Essendon aerodrome about a quarter past 11 o'clock yesterday morning. Before heading for Canberra the airmen flew over the site of the Shrine of Remembrance (as shown by the top left-hand picture) and dropped a wreath. On the right is the wireless operator (Mr. J.
