It had been desired that the lamp, the gift of Lord Forster, formerly Governor-General, in memory of his two sons who were klllod in the war, should be lighted by the present Governor-General (Lord Stonehaven). In the absence of Lord Stonehaven through illness, however, the ceremony was performed by Mr. Bavin, M.L.A. (N.S.W.).
