  3. FLEET BOUND FOR AUSTRALIA.

    The American fleet left the naval base at Pago Pago on Saturday morning, and is now well on its way to Australia. The ships will rendezvous at Gabo Island, 2,600 miles; there the fleet will divide, and 43 ships will come to Melbourne (333 miles), where they are due on July 23. Sydney is 237 miles to the north, and 14 ships will reach that port at approximately the same time as those coming to Melbourne. Above are:—Admiral Robert E. Coontz'(right), in command of the fleet. Rear-Admiral H. I, Ziegemeler is in command of battleship division three, which is visiting Melbourne.
