    The Japanese had an important strategical bridge in the North—Eastern Celebes. RAAF Beaufighters smashed it into a mass of twisted girders on December 29 as can be seen in the top picture. With oriental patience the Japanese built another bridge of the pontoon type on drums. The RAAF kept a watchful eye on the progress of the replacement. As soon as the river was spanned on February 4 the Beaufighters destroyed the new bridge with another withering attack as the bottom ... [ILLUSTRATED]
