    Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, who arrived in Perth on Thursday at the beginning of his Australian tour, declaring the 1934 Royal Show open at Claremont in the afternoon. On the Duke's right are members of his staff, and on his left are the President of the Royal Agricultural Society (Mr. G. A. W. Piesse), the Lieutenant-Governor (Sir James Mitchell), and the Commonwealth Minister directing the Royal tour (Major C. W. C. Marr). The Secretary of the Royal Agricultural Society (Mr. C. W.   3. A "DIGGER DIARISTS" DINNER.

    Ex-servicemen who have been contributing for the past five and a half years to the "Diggers' Diary" in "The Western Mail" were last Tuesday night the guests of West Australian Newspapers, Ltd., at a dinner and smoke social reunion at the Savoy Hotel. Mr. C. Longmore, who, as "Non-Com.," founded the page and has conducted it since its inception, presided over an attendance of about 60, some of whom had travelled hundreds of miles to be present.
