    Lord Dudley is a five-year-old son of the American trotting horse Wildwood, who is generally regarded as the best trotter ever imported to New Zealand. His pregency, Ribbonwood, who covered 2 miles in 4.35 4-5 and others are the best trotters in New Zealand and Australia. Lord Dudley's dam, Chips, is by the imported horse Berlin. Berlin's daughter, Fraulein, was the dam of Fritz (2.13),and Puella a full sister to Fraulein, is the dam of Almont, holder of the following records—3 miles (6.50). 2 miles (4.32), 1 mile (2.12). Lord Dudley is a beautiful dark brown with black points, stands 16 hands, and is one of the fastest and most perfect-actioned horses south of the line.
