    Bitalli died at 2.25 o'clock on Sunday afternoon (says the "Advertiser"). Although his trainer, J. Scobie, held out hopes earlier in the week that the October gelding would pull through his illness, he was not at all sanguine on Saturday, and it was reported in the evening that Bitalli would probably not see the night out.
