    WHEN THE FINAL BELL RANG THE KNELL OF LEAGUE FOOTBALL FOR 1929 on Saturday, Collingwood's champton follower,Syd. Coventry, had achieved the unique distinction of having led his team to premiership honors for three successive seasons. As he ran to the dressing room after the game against Richmond, he was rushed by the Collingwood trainers and carried shoulder high from the arena.
